Sweetwater is known throughout the lower half of South Carolina as one of the oldest and most challenging courses in the lower state. The course’s front nine is similar to other low-country courses with an abundance of wetlands, while the back nine has sufficient rolling elevation to remind one of the up-country portions of our beautiful state. Sweetwater is considered a great place to learn the game, while still providing a challenge to the most talented players.
FRONT NINE
Holes #1 thru #9 provide a challenging start to the round. Start the round on a challenging but managable #1 – #4. If you can make it through the difficult Holes #5-#7 you will set yourself up for a great score on the front nine.
BACK NINE
Get ready for a tough start to the back nine. #10 provides a challenging down hill par 3. It is followed up by the #1 handicap hole on the course – a difficult dogleg left. After #11, settle in for a few straight, score-able holes.
