Renita Folds, a Carrollton portrait photographer, gave a riviting presentation on Infant, Wedding and Seniors photography at this month's Sweetwater Camera Club meeting. As the evening began, she took a babydoll and used it to demonstrate how she sets up her baby pictures. As it turns out, she uses the doll to show parents how she wants them to pose with their newborn. From viewing her photographs one can understand the effectiveness of this method.
As the evening progressed, Renita kept the audience spellbound with her work and insights into making beautiful portraits of families and weddings. She mentioned that raising four daughters gave her all the experience she needed to face the challenges she meets during her sittings. You may view some of her work at http://www.cpqgalleries.com/foldsphotographyWeb/ and at http://www.photoreflect.com/pr3/store.aspx?p=22135 . We were all amazed at Renita's grasp of her subject as well as her highly organized approach to her art and craft.
Those of you who didn't make it to the presentation surely missed some very special and useful tips. At the break one of our members commented, "So that's how to take good baby pictures. I would never have thought of a lot of those things." Once we have compiled the minutes from the meeting we will post a number of Renita's tips and tricks . . . |
