Photographer Greg Ferguson to speak at the SCC November Meeting: “Planning a Photo Trip to Africa . . . or Antarctica . . . or your backyard”
By Richard Nichols
For our November 12, 2009 meeting we are extremely fortunate to have photographer Greg Ferguson as our guest speaker. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. with the doors at St. Julian's opening at 6:30 p.m. Many of our current members will remember Greg's inspirational performance during the SCC April 10th, 2008 meeting. His topic for this month is entitled: “Planning a Photo Trip to Africa . . . or Antarctica . . . or your backyard.”
For those of you who missed it, please click on the thumbnail above to be taken to Greg's complete 60 minute lecture. Greg's lecture this month will be an update of the work and many travels he has experienced since his last visit.
Greg's Agenda for this month's meeting is as follows:
1. Open with a 6-10 min slide show “What’s New”, basically covering everything I’ve shot since the last SCC presentation, without Africa pics.
2. First half of presentation “Planning a Photo Trip to Africa . . . or Antarctica . . . or your backyard” This will cover how to evaluate the various options that various tours give you, what is important, what isn’t important, etc.
3. Mid set slide show of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.
4. Second half of presentation. What to take, how to pack, how to prepare, what to practice, dos and don’ts, etc.
5. Close with revamped Africa presentation. Next week’s assignment.
6. Q&A
Greg has also been so kind as to provide handouts and separate PowerPoint files of his talking points from last year. Feel free to download them. You should also visit Greg's website at http://www.gregferguson.us.com .
