Saturday, January 3^rd at 2 P.M. we will have our first of many field trips for the year 2009 to Hunter Park here in Douglasville. You are invited to join us!

Field trip chairperson Mary Lesh has put together quite a team already and has this to say:

“For this Saturday, we decided to go to Hunter Park. There is a walk way around the lake, a playground and a memorial to veterans. I thought it would be good to encourage members with children to bring them to play on the playground and perhaps allow those who don't have children an opportunity to take photos of them. I may borrow some of my neighbors kids so I can take some pictures of them. I've been wanting to do that for them since they watched my dog while I was away. We thought the afternoon would be good, around 2:00.

We will be getting together after the new year to try to plan as many trips in advance as possible. I think we are going to have a great year. Lots more participation and lots more fun doing what we like to do.”

We realize this is short notice but we would like to get in a field trip before our meeting on January 8^th to give those who would like to enter pictures into the Field Trip portion of the contest an opportunity to do so, while getting the year off to a fresh start. In case of rain the field trip will be postponed.

Whether you are a member of the SCC or an interested visitor, keep in mind that we invite everyone with an interest in photography to participate in our local field trips where possible. It is a good opportunity to meet our members and learn new things. You must be a member of the SCC in order to enter our contests however.
