On Sunday, December 7th from 2:30 p.m. until after dark the Sweetwater Camera Club will hold our 12th field trip for the year in downtown Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park. There are many things to photograph in the area this time of year. Here is a pdf map of the park

The computerized Fountain of Rings show plays 4 times daily at 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. We will meet at the fountain during mid-afternoon, then enjoy the skaters at the Ice Skating Rink, make images of people, buildings and scenery in downtown Atlanta. The Holiday Lights will be on all day and into the night. Darkness comes early so the lights should provide some beautiful subject matter. Be aware that parking in this area is at least $10 per vehicle so car pools are encouraged.

This is your opportunity to take pictures of downtown Atlanta and CNN Center as well as the park. Be advised that you should not wander alone down empty streets . . . take one or more buddies with you, especially considering that you are carrying photographic equipment. It goes without saying-- but do not leave any equipment or camera bags in view inside cars.
