| By Sweetwater Camera Club |
The Sweetwater Camera Club Field Trip Committee is pleased to announce that our next Field Trip will be to Cochran Mill Nature Center located 17 miles south of Douglasville close to Palmetto Georgia. We will meet at the gate at opening time, 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, August 2nd, 2008. The nature preserve is open from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The cost of admission is $2 per person. Click here for directions. Cochran Mill Nature Center is known for its hiking, wild life rehabilitation and environmental education programs. The center's website lists it's wildlife conservation collection including many live snakes, amphibians, reptiles, insects, birds, turtles and lizards. The center has a log structure located by a pond on fifty privately-owned, heavily-wooded acres.
Our August 14th photo contest at the Sweetwater Camera Club is "Animals" so this particular field trip should help you with that. Everyone is invited, rain or shine, and you may carpool with other members to save gasoline if you like. You may discuss carpooling in the forum area located here.
