The fourth Sweetwater Camera Club shootout contest held on Sunday, September 18th resulted in the following awards:

  Field Trip

We’ve given you the entire year to prepare for this one!
  
To enter this month’s contest you must have three separate images, (2 color and/or 2 Monochrome) each image (in its category) representing a different season!
In other words; you must have 2 images in the color category, and/or three images in the B&W category to enter at all! And each of those three images must be of a different season! Images will still be judged and prized individually, per tradition.
 
Newnan Festival of Lights: Contest includes any color/bw photo made during trip

Portrait
  

  

Field Trip

A likeness of a person or group of people, often featuring the face.  It can show elements of personality and moods and is open to a wide variety of photographic interpretation

Sweetwater Creek State Park "Introduction to Winter Bird Watching:" Contest includes any color/bw photo made during trip 
 March
Emotion

A photographic image that readily and effectively elicits a basic emotion such as Joy, Trust, Fear, Surprise, Sadness, Disgust, Anger, or Anticipation

 Texture    
A photograph in which the texture of a surface or surfaces are strongly portrayed and readily stand out in the image

Abstracts

The use of shape, design and form to create an image that transcends the straight forward representation of its pictorial elements so as to take on a new meaning of it’s own

Macro or Close-Up

A detailed view taken very close to the subject or close-up images of small things. Technically a macro image displays a ratio of 1 to one (life sized) or greater. If not 1 to 1, it should be very close to 1 to 1

 Early and Late Light
  Photography made just before, at the time of, or just after sunset or sunrise when contrast is low and colors tend to be saturated  
 August
Architecture
A photograph of interior or exterior structures or structural elements. Early and late light tend to be the optimum times for exteriors

Landscapes

 

A wide range of photography in which areas of space in the world are featured. It can feature nature, strongly defined land forms, urban areas, and bodies of water

Reflections

 

An image that features subject matter that is repeated by means of a reflective surface

 November
Motion
An image that emphasizes the motion of an object or objects. This can be done by freezing (with a fast shutter speed) or blurring (with a slow/slower shutter speed) the action

Open Category

Bring your pictures of choice taken in the last year. Limited to one image per category - color, monochrome, field trip
 January
Cancelled due to Inclement Weather

Silhouettes
A photograph that shows an outline or profile of the subject or subjects that are rendered black or very dark; such as when the subject is back lit
March Something Old / Something New An image that strongly emphasizes the stark difference between subject matter old and new
