The fourth Sweetwater Camera Club shootout contest held on Sunday, September 18th resulted in the following awards:

Forces of Nature
This is anything that reflects nature's incredible force in action: blowing winds, torrential rains, flood waters, lightening, a raging river, a forest fire. This one is going to be hard, so I'm giving you a year to capture Mother Nature at her best or worst.

People

Field Trip

A person or persons is the dominant aspect of the image. Children, elderly and any ages in between; portraits, candids etc.

Transportation

Field Trip

Any mode or way of getting from point "A" to point "B". May be new or old, bright and shiny or wrecked and rusted, abandoned, etc.
Macon Cherry Blossom Festival: Contest includes any color/bw photo made during trip

Macro & Close-Up


Field Trip

This is a detailed view taken very close to the subject or close-up images of small things.  Technically a "macro" image is a ratio of 1 to 1 (life sized) or greater.
If not 1 to 1, it should be very close to 1 to 1.

Motion

Field Trip

Must have the appearance of being in motion when the image is taken. The image may be either a clear, sharp stopped-motion photo or somewhat blurred to depict motion

Flora

Field Trip

Flowers, plants, trees, etc. Human/animal elements shall not be present except on the rare occasion where they enhance the story.
Oakland Cemetery, Atlanta: Contest includes any color/bw photo made during trip

Animals

Field Trip

Any animal except humans. Subject must be living at time the image was captured (no stuffed or artificial animals or statues, etc.).  Includes insects, birds, fish, etc. anything from the animal kingdom except humans.
Cochran Mill Nature Center: Contest includes any color/bw photo made during trip

Abandoned

Field Trip

Anything that is no longer in use and has seen better days. Buildings, transportation, tools, houses, etc.
Atlanta Botanical Gardens: Contest includes any color/bw photo made during trip

Creative

Field Trip

Use your imagination and/or Photoshop skills.  Can be a composite image. Can be highly manipulated or unrecognizable (abstract). Use Photoshop to your heart's content.

Landscape


Field Trip

Broad view of the land with mountains, rivers, ocean, etc. as the subject. If manmade elements or humans are included in the image, they are incidental and not the main subject. Mountains, lakes, rivers, oceans, sky (sunrises, sunsets, clouds) or any combination.

Open category

Field Trip

Bring your picture of choice taken in the last year.  Limited to one color and one black and white image per person.
